How to find your IP address?

There are different ways to find your IP address, depending on what device you are using and what type of IP address you are looking for. There are two types of IP addresses: public and private. A public IP address is the one that your device uses to communicate with the internet. A private IP address is the one that your device uses to communicate with other devices on your local network, such as your router, printer, or smart TV.

To find your public IP address, you can use a website that displays your IP address, such as whatismyipaddress.com or iplocation.net. These websites will show you your public IP address, as well as other information, such as your location, ISP, and browser.

To find your private IP address, you can use the settings of your device or your router. For example, if you are using a Windows computer, you can follow these steps:

  • Click on the Start button and type cmd in the search box.
  • Open the Command Prompt app and type ipconfig in the window.
  • Look for the line that says IPv4 Address and note the number next to it. This is your private IP address.

If you are using a Mac computer, you can follow these steps:

  • Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
  • Click on the Network icon and select your network connection.
  • Click on the Advanced button and select the TCP/IP tab.
  • Look for the line that says IPv4 Address and note the number next to it. This is your private IP address.
